Mountain Idiots

So we get to a major look out point about three-quarters of the way up the mountain when we run into these three. The third person, whom you can't see, is "Grandma", there in the driver seat of that small grey car. What happens is she follows these two yahoo's down the mountain on their modified skateboards and "protective gear". Apparently this is a version of street luging. When the traffic let up enough, "grandson" yelled "NOW GRANDMA!" and she cut into traffic, allowing them to ride in front of her. While the two mountain idiots were surveying traffic patterns, Grandma told me that her grandson moved here a year ago from Ft. Lauderdale and he had just fallen in love with Colorado's mountains. She also said that I did not want to know how fast the two of them got going down the mountains, sometimes approaching 6o miles an hour. It's too bad for this flatlander punk that his love of the mountains is going to kill him. And it's too bad for Grandma that everytime she allows him to pull this crap she ages another five years.

There they go! Several other sightseers and I all watched for quite a while as they streaked down the mountain. As far as any of us saw, there were no breaks on those things; but I did notice lots of ducktape across the seats of their suits.
