Went to dinner last night at a little place in the Heights called DryCreek. It's an old gas station from the 30s or 40s that's been converted into a great little restaurant with good burgers and salads and great outdoor seating. You can't quite see all of it, but that yellow "box" to the right of the woman is actually an old gas pump. The place is cute and quaint and the weather outside once again leant itself to being outdoors, so Tim and I decided to take advantage. My favorite spot to sit is at that table that couple is sitting at, there under the lighted Catulpa tree. When we were first seated, that couple (plus another person) were just finishing up their meal. The weather, the lighting the setting sun provided, the ambiance all put me in a photo-snapping mood and I got a couple of what I considered interesting shots there on the patio. But the shot I really wanted was of my favorite table under the tree - but the couple would not leave! I kept waiting and waiting and waiting! Finally I decided I wasn't going to consider their feelings anymore about having their picture taken since they were very obviously not thinking about my feelings of wanting to take a picture! Jerks. :-)
"Refreshing" is right!
While waiting for Tim to pick me up, I noticed the tree appeared to be on fire with the setting sun burning through the branches. "Take a picture of me, Derek" it was saying...
