Deep in the heart of Texas

This is the door I walked through into the home of my dear friends, Jeff & Tricia, who live in Dallas. We met in Albuquerque over 10 years ago. Hard to believe. I went up for a quick weekend visit to just hang out and do nothing. It was great - lots of coffee and conversation.

Just a colorful shot inside J&Ts home.

And here they are, perusing some of the pictures they took of me and I took of them. Now that I'm home and looking through these pictures, I've decided I don't like them anymore cause they're both skinnier than me. They've both been working really hard the past several months to get healthy. Hopefully I can follow their lead.

Jeff had to show some homes (he's a realtor) so Tricia and I went to lunch at a restaurant Jeff doesn't like. She decided to have it be an "off day" diet-wise and got pasta and a cookie. That's just the kind of friend I am - helping those around me get fat, too :-)

Simultaneous shots!! Tricia is supposed to post her picture of me taking her picture on her blog. This was taken at a nature preserve in Plano. It was a gorgeous day and we felt we needed to be out in it. Before too long it will be way too hot to be strolling around outside in Texas.

This little guy came out to say hey.

Also at the nature preserve, this thorn was about 5 inches long. I don't know what kind of tree this is - other than one you don't mess with.

No trip to Dallas would be complete without a trip to Fadi's. J&T introduced me to it the very first time I went to visit them. At first I was tentative, but now I love it! It's where I first learned to eat babaganoush. This particular Fadi's was a new location for me, as J&T recently discovered that this particular one was all-you-can-eat. I know they have a Fadi's in Houston now, just west of the Galleria; I haven't gone to try it out yet. I'm certain it won't be as good without J&T.
