Ah....HEAVEN!!

My parents and my aunt came to visit for a long weekend Apr. 3-7 and the first item on the agenda was dinner at my mom's favorite restuarant Kenny & Ziggy's (or as she likes to call it Lenny and Squiggy's). The portions here are HUGE!!! I made two meals out of the left overs of ONE Rueben sandwich!

This is my dad using silverware to walk my aunt through the layout of the new Denver airport.

After Kenny & Ziggy's we went over to another piece of Heaven, The Chocolate Bar, to have amazing dessert. While we were there, a bluegrass band showed up and played some pretty darn good music. They sorta reminded me of the Muppets.

These are the doors to the administration building at St. Thomas University. I absolutely love these doors, so I've asked God to let them be the doors to my bathroom in my mansion in Heaven. (He'll have bigger and better doors picked out for my front door!)

The next day it was off to San Antonio and a cruise of the Riverwalk. There weren't many people on the boat, but one of them was John Edwards (who sat knee-to-knee with me). I asked him if he ever got sick of being "on" all the time and he hemmed and hawed and then said it went with the territory.

This is a wonderful glass chandelier in San Antonio that I just loved. But it makes me think of a very colorful, giant epiglotis.

While in San Antonio we of course did the Alamo. This was some cactus that I really liked the look of against the stone wall of the Alamo with one of it's windows.

And this is the inside of one of the other 5 missions in San Antonio, of which the Alamo is only one. I like the feel of this picture, but the way I positioned the chandelier above Jesus, it makes me think of the teleportation rings in Stargate.

This is an amazing, old live oak tree in a wonderful cemetary near my house. It's actually the cemetary where Howard Hughes is buried.

My aunt and my mom sitting on a jetty at the beach in Galveston. They both love the place and were quite happy being there as you can tell by their smiles. They especially love looking at all the old French Quarter-style homes.

And then this is me on the beach at Galveston with my fake smile, cause I hate the place.

I love these pictures, Derek - and it was fun to see your family too. I'm glad you've started a blog so I can keep up with you now. One of these days we'll have to road trip to Texas so you can show the 6 of us around!
