It was held in a little theater up in the Heights that used to be an old church, complete with the old pews for seating. Not the most comfortable for the rump, but great atmosphere. Obviously that's Amy on the right.
The crowd really seemed to enjoy the film as well as evidenced by the numerous inquiries during the Q&A time after the flick.
One of the members of the local organizing committee created this poster of Amy sipping a cappuccino to advertise the event here in Houston. This poster was up at one of the coffee houses I frequent and have actually blogged about and from (Catalina Coffee). They were one of the sponsors of the event and were giving out free cappuccinos during the screening. I passed as it would have been too much caffeine, even for the night we roll back daylight savings time.
This is a shot of Amy's cappuccino at Catalina Coffee on Sunday. The organizers put her up in the Hotel Derek (go figure) and I picked her up Sunday morning for an excellent brunch at Baby Barnabies. After that we went to Catalina Coffee so Amy could sample for herself. They remembered her from the night before and gave us our cappuccinos for free.
Here's Amy taking more pictures - "I need more cappuccinos for my website!"
You'd never know we were cousins by looking at us...except for the fact that when we both smile our eyes disappear!
And the finishing shot. They were good cappuccinos, though a little bitter for both of our tastes. Thanks for coming to visit, Amy! I had a great time getting to spend some time with you. One of these days I'll make it up to San Francisco.
