Phoenix

I'm realizing I'm not as good a blogger as my friend Marney. When she does multiple posts, hers are in chronological order on her blog. Mine are backwards. I start writing them in order, cause that's how my brain works, but when I post them, the newest post goes on top of the older post. I'll see if I can't figure out how to write backwards like Marney does :-)

So Sunday in Phoenix was a much clamer pace as everyone else who was from out of town left either Sunday morning or Saturday morning, leaving me as the only out of towner left. We had all talked on Saturday of going to the Botanical Gardens on Sunday, but Sunday turned out to be windy, wet and cold. I know! Can you believe it? Phoenix!! Oh well. We went ahead and braved the elements to look at these glass sculptures my aunt thought I would like taking photos of. She was right.

They very much reminded me of yuccas in New Mexico. We opted for not going into the Botanical Garden, one, because it was so cold and windy, and two, it was so dang expensive! They wanted $15 a person! Five I'd pay. Fifteen, no thanks. The city of Phoenix thinks highly of its plants!

Cute little kids in the bottom right corner having their picture taken.

And apparently Gollum having his picture taken ;-)

And here's me and mom when she's being more agreeable :-)

Each blade of the plant is an individually blown piece of glass. Apparently it's been done by a famous artist. I didn't bother to read the big 'ol billboard of information. I was cold.

There were a few nice desert plants outside the entrance. My cousin told me the name of this particular tree and I have since forgotten. A Palo Verde tree, maybe???

The classic Saguaro.

And this little guy lives across the street from my aunt. I just love saguaros.

Why, thank you! ;) Actually, I have to really concentrate in order to post backwards. It doesn't come easy. (Especially when I'm adding a bunch of photos in a particular order.... ugh.)
