Saturday

I stayed at my Aunt Chris' house, and one morning when I went out to go to the gym, I saw this fellow sitting by the front door. He's so hideous, I like him.

And right across from him was this lovely fellow who also wanted his picture taken. What I don't have a picture of is the six foot tall steel giraffe that now resides in her living room cause they were afraid "Maria" as they call her, would be stolen.

Can you believe it?? It's my real name! I always give my "coffee name" of Fred when I go to starbucks, but his morning my good friend Patti answered for me when they asked my name, so I waited to see how they would spell it. And they spelled it right! It was great to sit and catch up with Patti. She and I moved out to Houston together 11 years ago to help start the church, and when the church folded at the five-year point, she and some of the others then moved to Phoenix. When we're together it's like no time has passed at all. Now you'll notice that I took a picture of my cup but not of her or the two of us together. Thats cause I got to talking and forgot to take one. Sorry, Patti!

After coffee, it was off to my absolute favorite place to eat in Phoenix, Someburros!!! Like Dion's in ABQ, all the locals are sick of eating there, but they're good natured and humor us when we come to town.

The Pollo Fundido in all it's glory. I don't even want to know how many calories are in that thing. That chicken-y, creamy, cheesy, salsa-y deep fried thing. Man I'm hungry.

After some shopping, it was back to my cousin Mary D's house for a dinner of chili and sitting around the fire pit. As usual, the Cawthon boys find it impossible to make normal faces. They will so regret it when they're older. Oh well. They are boys afterall.

And here's Bradley. Guess that's all I've got to say about this particular shot.

Where are your eyes, Mary D???

Oh there they are!! We must come from the same gene pool....

One nice thing about drier climates is it actually cools off when the sun goes down. As you can tell, it cooled off a lot once it got dark. And.... there's Ian being Ian. It must come from the Cawthon side. That's certainly not a Prins trait ;-)

Lauren showing off her hoodie, scarf, mittens and boots. Warm weather people don't adjust well or quickly to cold weather.

Three of the aunties smoke and now apparently Melinda has decided to take up the habit, too.
