Taize

I love the Taize service that's held monthly at Palmer Episcopal across from Rice University. It's just so stinkin' peaceful. I haven't been in probably a year, but last night decided to meet Mike & Pam last minute. If you don't know what a Taize service is, you should Google it. Essentially, though, it's a service where you do not speak upon entering or during. There are simple, almost Gregorian chants (songs) that are often sung in Latin (with some English) and with which you may sing along. There are a few simple readings and a few simpler prayers peppered throughout and sandwiching a ten minute moment of silence. It is so reverant. So peaceful. So poignant. It was exactly what I needed last night after a long and stressful week.
