Good Friday Blahs

I'm feelin' kinda crabby. Okay, maybe not so "kinda" as just flat out crabby. I'd headed out of town on Hwy 90 with Mike & Pam to go look at wildflowers and hit every freakin' red light between here and Roscharon. It was ridiculous. And people were driving like total idiots! - ignoring "no left turn" signs, coming across three lanes of traffic to pull right in front of me and then suddenly turn right, or my personal favorite, drive slower than the speed limit. Then couple that with the fact that there were absolutely NO (nada, zippo, zilch) wildflowers blooming along Hwy 90, just a train that paralleled us and leapfrogged us everytime we hit every red light. We finally ditched Hwy 90 and headed north again to hop on I-10 to drive back home, and that's when we started seeing the wildflowers, but by then we were all sick of it and ready to be in our own places. So there was not stopping and hopping out to snap shots of the blooms.

The day hadn't started out this badly...not great, but not bad. While just getting in my shower, the water temp took a typical dive and I found myself muttering while adjusting, "Ya know Lord, I don't ask for much", when I half pictured him mockingly ask, "Oh really..." and then mini-flashes of some of the crap I ask and beg for, and then finishing with remembering what HE was doing this day almost 2000 years ago. I laughed outloud at myself and felt He was laughing at me too. Perspective. It's all perspective. My tepid shower is nothing compared to the suffering He endured on my behalf two millenia ago. So I'll shut my mouth, stop whiney-typing and be grateful for the friends I do have, the flowers I did see, the Starbucks I sit at and the McDs sundae I ate, all on this day my God paid the highest price so I could be in real relationship with Him.

And the picture? Since I didn't get any shots from today, I pulled one from this weekend three years ago. Rather fitting.
