Look What I Did!

Right before Christmas I decided that I was getting sick of my orange and brown walls - they'd been that way for five years. So as a gift I asked for gift cards to Home Depot for new paint. And since the old colors were so deep, I had to put primer up first. So on the NINE year anniversary of living in this apartment, I started painting Friday night. I only got the living room done, and as I sat there winding down I felt like the walls were closing in on me. It was quite chlosterphobic.

The next morning I got the blue cut in and then Mike arrived to help me. That's him rolling on the blue while I was in my bedroom cutting in and rolling on the primer.

After lunch Tim showed up as well to help and I put him to work in the kitchen. KILZ is the best primer ever! It dries in an hour and only takes one coat!

And right on the hour cue, Tim was hard at work rolling on the new green.

And here's a shot of the finished product. The room's not completely put back together because I'm repainting the shelves. I decided that being orange no longer worked, so I primed them this morning and will paint them a dark brown.

The finished kitchen - complete with two trash bags full of painting materials - one being my old kitchen floor mat that I decided to spill the last bit of green paint on.

The same green in the finished bedroom. Again, it's not all put together, but you get an idea of the color and can see the spot where I tossed and turned all night.

I love the paint, Derek! It looks very.... UPDATED! You will be more cheerful in your surroundings, I'll bet! You might even start to sleep better. :)
