Last weekend Michelle came into town for her step-brother's second wedding and begged me to go because she had been asked to sing at it. So, sucker that I am, I went. It was held at a country club in Egypt, on the west side of town, on the clubhouse porch. There were a myriad of problems occuring before the ceremony even got started that I won't go into here. Suffice it to say, the ceremony didn't get rolling until 45 minutes after it was supposed to - you know, cause weddings are so much fun to begin with! :-)
So I sat there dutifully in my little white chair watching the golfers and the little puffs of clouds that literally looked fake. As is often the case, the expression 'the camera just doesn't do it justice' holds true. Fortunately, the weather was absolutely spectacular and it was pleasant in the shade while we all waited for the bride to get her act together.
The little black curlies are tiny hairs embedded in my camera on the lens and I can't shake them out. Not sure what Im going to do about that. Plus my camera itself has been acting up lately. I'm worried my little camera who has been with me on so many journey's and faithfully taken so many pictures is not long for this world. I really need to win the lottery!
Yup. A leopard print cake. All I can say is it's a second wedding.
And here's a blurry shot of the groom's cake... for these good Christian people ;-) I must say that the highlight of the wedding was sitting with Michelle and judging/mocking a smattering of the people there, for example, the "bubba" who arrived in his best blue flanel shirt and Wranglers.
Here was the arrangement of the seats on the porch. I guess it works?
And I know this is horribly mean... but WHAT kind of a hideous wedding dress is that? Can you see the mullet portion on the back???? LOL!! (that's Michelle's mom there in the center of the shot).
So Michelle and I sat at the "Groom's Family Table" with another of her step-brothers and her parents. The step-brother had a little girl named Grace who was about 8 or 9 and took up residence beside me. As we sat and tried to entertain ourselves, I took up making her jewelry out of the leopard ribbons around the silverware and the 1" plastic diamonds scattered across the mirrored tabletop. They were a hit. By the end of the night I had made a dozen or more and a new little friend. She told Michelle's mom that "Michelle's friend is really cute, but he has way too much gray hair". HA! See if I ever make you another diamond ring little girl!

That is HYSTERICAL! But at least she acknowledged that you're cute. ;)
