A Wedding

The last weekend of April was spent in PHX at my cousin's daughter's wedding.  I think that makes her my second cousin?  Or my cousin twice removed?  Or something?  Whatever the label, that is my cousin Heather and her now husband, Michael.  They couldn't have asked for nicer weather, particularly for an outdoor wedding in PHX.

And a nice shot of my oldest nephew, Bradley.  I can't believe he's finishing up his sophomore year, has a drivers license and a job and is saving up for his first car.  I'M NOT THAT OLD!!!

I also liked this shot of my youngest cousin, Josh and my father as they sit and wait for the wedding to begin.

This is one of my favorite shots of my sister.  I'm a little surprised she hasn't made it her profile pic on FB.  She looks like a movie star as she sits with her family.  The official wedding photographer did not care for her hat and kept asking her to step to the side of the shots she was taking.  I was kinda thinking a little bit of a fight might break out... and while I'm not the biggest fan of weddings, it would have been a bit of fun to watch a cat fight ;-)  I'd bet on my sister any day!

I liked the colors and the interest in this shot as all the boys gathered round my cousin Michael to see the shots he was taking.  Apparently he took over 800.  And you thought I was bad!

A nice family pic :-)

And this lovely blond is the bride's sister, Lauren.  She doesn't like this shot, but I do and it's my blog so she can just deal with it.  She, of course, was the maid of honor.

And this is the bride's "little" brother, Adam.  He was obviously one of the groomsmen.

I don't know who the shorter woman on the left is, but then, in order, is my mom (daughter #4), Melinda (daughter #2) and Nancy (daughter #1).  Of course, none of them liked this picture and asked me not to use it.  Whatever.  If I actually listened to the people who asked me not to use their pics, my blog really WOULD be just flowers.

Father and son joined at the hip :-)

I absolutely CANNOT wait till I can blackmail Ian and Seth with all the STUPID pics/faces they made over the years of me trying to take their picture.  If they weren't related to a smartass family, I'd knock their blocks off.  But alas, they're my blood and some of my own smartassness has apparently come home to roost.

More of the cousins:  (LtoR)  Josh, Melinda, Doyle, Anthony, Tance, Todd, Katrina & Linda.

Melinda (sans hat to dance), Heather and Michael.

And my lovely parents dancing the night away :-)

My cousin, Mary D. and Jeff, as they light Heather's candle for the unity candle.

And instead of bird seed or rice or bubbles, Heather & Michael ran to their car amidst a sea of sparklers.  Overall, it was a great weekend and a great time seeing my family.  I absolutely love them all and am in total love with PHX.  I have to admit it crossed my mind several times that as Heather is 15 years younger than me, I could have been sitting at her wedding having been married 15 years myself.  I do wonder what that might have been like... but I'd probably have been chasing kids around or telling my teenagers to get a grip and act polite and not been able to enjoy the wedding.  But that's just the story I'm telling myself ;-)
