New Years Eve

I miss mountains. I miss the sense of place that they give me... "up against the mountain". I think thats why I like living next to downtown Houston; it's as close to mountains as I can get, whereas out in the 'burbs, there's this sense of "out in the middle of nowhere". This pic is of the Sandias from my parents back yard. As is typical of Albuquerque's donut weather, it snowed everywhere else in the state except here.

I'm lovin' my new camera's zoom. And this isn't even zoomed all the way. I dont think I told you, dear reader, that I got a new camera for Christmas! No more little black fuzzies in every shot. WooHoo!

After running a few errands in the afternoon, I went to meet the Cawthon clan and Josh at a benihana place for dinner. I promise you, this picture was not staged.

Melinda got a new camera as well. (Typical. Just like growing up, she had to have and do everything I did ;-) I loved Doyle's face in this shot. Perhaps the little boys come by it honestly??

Yup. They come by it honestly.

UGH.

This was a fun dinner and a great tradition the Cawthon's have on New Years Eve. Thanks for inviting me and Josh, guys!

After dinner it was over to Melinda's to ring in the new year with their brand new popcorn popper, ice cream and oreos and playing games. It was a great night, though by 11pm we all headed back to my parents so we could get off the roads before the drunks got on them.

Who knew that an iPad could bring the family together?

....and we have destruction. It took a little longer this year, but Roxy finally gutted her new squeeky toy.
