I realized the other day that I hadn't posted any pics of my last day in ABQ before heading home to Houston. So I dug through my photo archive and found these four. Above is my aunt, Nancy, sweeping my parents lawn. Yes, she's sweeping it...just like my father showed her how. See, the grass isn't real - it some new-fangled astro turf that needs no care what so all. Only in the desert...
One thing I miss about ABQ is the hummingbirds. Not saying Houston doesn't have any, but I've never seen any here. Just sayin. It was nice ot sit out on the back porch and watch them each day...though it took them a little while to get up the courage to come and eat with all of us sitting so close.
After celebrating my parents 40th the day before, my mom wanted to throw a b-day/retirement party for all us July babies and my aunt's retirement from teaching. Those little splotches of color in the middle of the plates are little squirt guns. The kids loved it.
All the anniversary talk drove the ladies to find out if Melinda could still fit in her wedding dress. In my opinion, it's one of the prettiest wedding dresses I've ever seen.
