Here's a sight you won't see for much longer - a plane that says "Continental". As I'm sure you've heard by now, United and Continental are merging and it's all the twitter here in Houston. The website says that the new airline will be called United but will use Continental's font and look. Weird. I think they should just come up with a new name and logo entirely, but they didn't ask me. Which is fine. I never fly Continental as I prefer Southwest.
So here I sit on a Continental flight to Denver to do the annual law program I help my friend Jim run. So where's Jim? Oh, I'm glad you asked. He's sitting up in first class while I'm back with the steerage. I let him talk me into flying Continental since we both had to be there the same day this year for the program. Usually he flies in a day earlier and I fly in the next day on my preferred airline. But I agreed to go Continental which meant going out of Bush airport which is further away, paying $55 extra each way to check two bags, and almost paying a $150 fee for thinking about changing my return flight - all things Southwest lets me do for free, plus Hobby airport is closer to my house. Oh well. It got me to Denver so I guess I can't complain too much.
