Denver 2

Brace yourselves. I'm camera happy when it comes to flowers. Well, I'm camera happy anyway, but particularly when it comes to flowers. My mother thinks I need to turn the shots into greeting cards. Perhaps. My suite mate again this year, was Michael, and he was extremely tolerant of my shutter-happy finger. Each morning we would get out the door before 7am and walk to a local coffee shop for some real coffee and then a stroll along the campus stream/reflective pools. The morning light was gorgeous! And the sun rose so much earlier in Denver than Houston... (and I know it's cause Denver is further north, and in the summer there's more hours of sunlight the further north you go cause the north pole points towards the sun, blah, blah, blah.)

An open Lotus flower with bees in the center doing their job.

That's Michael's shadow, though to me it seems the Lotus flower is casting it :-) This, I think, helps give it a sense of scale.

Beautiful, isn't it? I could just sit in this area for hours! But, unfortunately, they kept us so busy, we never really had much downtime to do such a thing.

Not sure what kind of tree/shrub this is, but I liked how they had forced the trunk to spiral.

And also don't know what kind off tree this was, but I found it's developing seedpods fascinating. There were some dried, matured ones on the ground and MAN those little hooks would do a good job of sticking to any passing animal's fur (or human's clothes and skin!) for "spreading of the species".

And here is the mother tree. The branches almost came down and touched the ground, making a very awsome space for a fort! :-) Problem was, the mosquito's thought it was an awsome space as well.

A shot from the tree back towards the chapel and our dorm, with the winding stream and reflecting pools. That tallest spire was our dorm.
