Answered Prayer

The weather I prayed for came...today...a day late. But gorgeous weather is gorgeous weather and I did my best to get out in it! The day started off by waking up 20 mintues before Tim was picking me up for early church (thanks, margaritas!) and then from there to The Hot Bagel Shop for some cream cheese on a toasted everything bagel with a cup of coffee. After that it was back home for a change of clothes, a quick peek at Facebook to see pictures the Kutners had posted of the proof of just how fat I am, and then back out the door for some windows-down-errand running with Jim. Did I mention today was gorgeous??
One of the stops in the errand running was Jim and Susan's house, at which he proudly showed me the latest addition to their ever-improving backyard. That's a door from his favorite aunt's house that he and Susan have hauled around for years and it NOW finally has a purpose, giving the illusion of more space by making it look like there is garden beyond the fence. I like it.

And this last shot is also a shot of an answered prayer. I have been debating and debating and debating since I met this lovely lady on Thursday whether I should adopt her or not. After much agonizing, I finally decided not to adopt Chloe (even though I'd already named her!) mostly due to money, but also time. So after spending the late afternoon on the patio at Starbucks (back with Tim again), I drove back to the SPCA by my apartment to find that Chloe was no longer there - a great sign that she was not to be my dog. I pray, though, that she has found a wonderful home with a wonderful family. I have been to the SPCA many times and no dog got to my heart like she did. Perhaps a day will come soon when I will be out of debt, in a house, and able to get a dog of my own.
