Still Bored, but on a Roll

I see you! FINALLY! a picture Angel likes! :-) These are her new eyelashes - birthday presents to herself. Both she and Kim had a birthday this past week, so as a little celebration I took them to their usual Saturday breakfast/lunch haunt, House of Pies. I say "breakfast/lunch" because it's close to 1pm by the time they wake up, putz around, play with their cats, get ready and then get out the door for "breakfast". Sometimes they don't even make it till 2pm. That then puts the whole day on a later schedule and they don't typically eat dinner till 8 or 9. But to each their own. They accuse me of having "paw-paw" dinners cause I prefer to eat around 6 or 6:30.

And believe it or not, here's yet another picture they liked :-) It really was their birthday. Angel finally felt the pressur of the Coke I'd ordered to drink and wanted one herself so that meant, she told herself, that she had to have "lunch" food in order to have a Coke - so she ordered a cheeseburger with "Scooby-snacks". Kim had scrambled eggs and bacon while I had a patty melt with "Scooby-snacks". What exactly are "Scooby-snacks"? The restaurant calls them "cottage fries", little bite size hashbrowns that are fried and golden all over, about the size of a quarter - or the size of a Scooby snack that Shaggy used to give Scooby on "The Scooby Doo Show". They're great with salt.

And this is The House of Pies, a great greasy spoon landmark here in Houston. If you go really late at night you can catch quite a show since that's when a wide variety of freaks tend to visit. It can be quite an elaborate mix; the elderly wealthy just returning home after a night at the opera sitting in a neighboring booth with a drag queen and her harem. It's quite a hoot. And they make the best tuna melt sandwiches on the planet! with what else but Scooby-snacks.
