MMmmm....Matza ball soup!! Can you think of a better entre course to Rosh Hashana dinner? Neither can I.
But what was even better about the first course was it was proceeded by the appetizer! Crispy rye toast topped with salmon and a dijon mustard and dill sauce. YUM!!
Pam Kutner is so stinkin' efficient, she woke up at 6am (which she does automatically) and began cooking everything from scratch. When I arrived at the house at 3:30 for a 6pm dinner, everything was already sitting in the oven, just waiting to be baked. Impressive. AND did you notice how clean that oven is??? The woman is not human.
Under the Hebrew is some of the most delightful bread on the planet...Challah!
And the glorious uncovering!! Isn't it beautiful? You should taste it dipped in the Matza ball soup!
And this glorious plate was brought to you by Marc Kutner! He is a grill-master extraordinaire! Despite all the curse words at the leaping flames, Marc is always able to turn out an amazing entree. I'm hungry again just typing about it...
This is the group of 18 year olds that Jenny brought home from college with her. Oh, and that's Lindsay on the right, who is 16, but is as good as 18. I have never felt so old. I'd say something funny, or at least attempted to, and had the distinct impression that I was the old guy in the room trying to act cool and fit in. Sad. And I don't remember being this young when I went to college...I'm sure 18 was much older when I was a college freshman.
